The Central Coast is blessed with 87 km of coastline as well as quiet waterways, and along those shorelines, we love to sit and have a coffee and chat, or dine overlooking the ocean. Here’s a rundown on where you can find those special spots up and down our sandy shores.
The Central Coast is teeming with so many places to see and restaurants to try that the northern end of this beautiful region can tend to be a little overlooked unless you’re a local in-the-know. Luckily, areas like Wyong and Toukley are booming with new, entrepreneurial cafés, restaurants and bakeries just waiting for you to take a bite.
In the aptly named ‘green room’ at the new Shady Palms restaurant in Avoca, chartreuse leaves peer through glass-louvered windows, ceramic birds fly across walls, while other walls are painted a faded lime, and another features an artwork reminiscent of an Elvis flick.
Tucked away, up the road from Angel Sussurri in Yarramalong, this new (old) store was founded 130 years ago as the local branch of Chapman’s trading post, and is well worth the drive.
